what is Enhanced Driftwood?
It is a new art form developed by Bob Knudsen. Blending combinations of woodworking processes with my new ideas to form a new technic to recycle, enhance, & preserve driftwood. I use this new technic to create my Enhanced Driftwood Sculptures. You may have seen parts of my technic & other processes used on 1 or 2-dimensional pieces of wood, tables, or wall art, however, in my research, I have not seen anything like my new technic used by any other artists. My process takes a minimum of 4 weeks to several months to complete. It includes cleaning, decontamination, & inlaying a blend of colored mica with sparkling diamond dust in some of the natural openings of the driftwood. Completing the transformation from old broken pieces of wood to spectacular, Enhanced Driftwood Sculptures each piece is sealed in a natural-look matte finish, or ultra-gloss sealant simulating the look of just being lifted out of the water, as well as to preserve, & protect my art so it can be enjoyed for many years to come.
